Cleveland and Milwaukee

I think the Indians and Brewers will be a couple sneakily entertaining teams in 2013. Lots of runs, substandard run prevention, offenses that can hang with the best in their leagues, but rotations that can have some pretty spotty outings and bullpens which aren’t great either. Inelegant yet still worth watching. Their flaws give these teams a “fighting uphill,” “scrappy underdog” kind of vibe. Throw in the whole “small market” observation and ride that narrative all the way to some kind of bizarre hybrid “sports media criticism” gig with a health plan and 401(k)…or just keep dreaming.
